I recently won two lots of Peter Laing English Civil War figures. For me the best figures are two different "peasant" figures.

For me these figures have great potential. Besides ECW peasants, I could see them as Irish rebels from the 1798 rebellion. On the bizarre side, maybe leprechauns guarding their gold. That idea is from a campaign I've been thinking of for a while. |
I thought I had seen most if Peter's figures, but thet are new ones to me!
ReplyDeleteLooking at the Peter Laing catalog, there are so many of these unusual figures that I think hunting Peter Laing figures could be a lifetime hunt!
ReplyDeleteFigures are splendid with so much gaming potential in them-I look forward to seeing what you will do with them...
ReplyDeleteI was thinking it wouldn't take much to convert them to 19th century figures; figures that could be used in a "Gangs of New York" game. With names like "The Dead Rabbits" and "The Plug Uglies", it's another period I have thought of gaming.
ReplyDeleteIf you are thinking of doing that, what about Peter's Marlburian Sapper figures in stocking caps? The one with the pick ax could be used as is, while the figure with the spade could be easily converted
ReplyDeleteThat is a good idea. Maybe I should be looking at other figures for conversion. Of course now my mind is starting to wander.....
