While I haven't been doing much with the hobby recently, I continue to follow my favorite blogs and occasionally go to auction sites. My last visit to Ebay contained some Peter Laing figures that were reasonably priced and of interest to me. The most important was pontoon wagon and pontoon, giving me two such wagons. Also two more Wellington figures, which make great 19th century generals, and some gunners marked as German WW1, although I believe the are French in Adrian helmets.
There are a number of Peter Laing items on U.K. eBay at the moment but, jeez, they aren’t cheap by any means…

When I first started buying them, they were cheap. I've seen some I would like, but cost of postage now is too much.
DeleteIt is such a shame the Peter Laing figures disappeared from the scene
ReplyDeleteYes it is. I think when painted by someone with more skill than me, they can hold there own with the newest figures.
DeleteExcellent find John. We are almost this October / November 1972 on the 50th Anniversary of the first adverts for the first 15mm figures in the form of the Marlburian range of Peter Laing figures in Military Modelling.
ReplyDeleteThat's good to know. Perhaps a parade of figures are called for....
ReplyDeleteNice little model John. A pontoon bridge scenario is always a fun game.
ReplyDeleteI have yet to have a game using deploying a pontoon bridge. I've always had in the back of my mind playing such a game after seeing the Battle of Sittandbad in Charge!.
