Ideas for 1800's Militia

I haven't been able to get a project off the ground. One project was to use Britain's figures to recreate U.S. militia units of the 1800's. I ordered some spare heads to get an idea of which heads would work for this period. Today I got the idea of trying the different heads with a West Point body.

    1. That is one of my favorites. The fusilier head looks more like the bearskin that militias wore. The Guards bearskin didn't look right. Also, the militia bearskins had tassels in the front; the fusilier badge can pass for the tassel. Mostof the other heads seemed small to me.

    1. I did a couple of other heads. The change in the blog programming is making it more difficult to post things. I don't know if part of the problem is the computer,, but when I go to add photos, instead of pictures, computer code comes up, so I can't add captions to the pictures.

  3. A good idea. I like the bearskin chap as well.

Out of curiosity, when writing a post, are you working in html or compose mode (the little pencil at the left of the menu). In compose mode once the picture is added, I get a menu icon to pick the size and another cryptic one (an underlined A) to add a text label.

  4. Ross, thank you for your advice in regards to solving my blog dilemma. I was in the wrong mode. When I wrote this post, it was late at night. Your advice cleared up that problem.

    1. Number 1 certainly looks the best. I was really surprised that some of the heads seem smaller than others.
