AWI Peter Laing Figures

I managed to trade some old figures I wasn't using anymore for some samples of Peter Laing American War of Independence figures.
Officer figure, standard bearer, cavalryman, and Highlander.

Hessian grenadier, light infantryman, frontiersman, infantryman, Highlander, and British grenadier.

I already made a mold using the marching "hatman" and British grenadier.  The  Hatman tends to be semi flat  and is quite hard to mold.

  1. The casting and painting looks good. Are you per chance going to do a post on your casting approach?

    1. I have done several posts in the past about casting. To be up front, this mold was a disappointment. I have ordered new casting metal. I am hoping that using more pure metal might improve the casting. Right now I use whatever old figures I have cast in the past for these figures. Perhaps if I have more successful molds I will do another series on casting.

  2. Interesting to see these figures, not seen these before or your lovely WW2 converted Russians. Like the Frontiersman figure - I'm sure castings of this one will suit your games well.

    1. I got these figures and the Russians, along with a sizable collection of Peter Laing WW2 figures from the same person. I have been working on using block figures, but now that I have opened the rubber I use, I have to start making more molds. The frontiersman figures could be used for right up to, and including, the Civil War. It just dawned on me that it could pass for a Confederate in an overcoat.

  3. I see what you mean about the semi flat hatman. I have always had a soft spot for Peter Laing figures. The first metal figures I ever had were Peter Laing ECW.

  4. The Highlander in the second photo (you can't really see the figure because of the flash), is also on the flat side. Still, they are a nice addition to my collection.
